JAGBE, A TOWN CONTINUOUSLY NEGLECTED BY EDO STATE GOVERNMENTS

Since when I was young till now that I am above 60 years, I have not seen Jagbe town benefit from any of the administrations in Edo state. Even the SHINE AGENDA of Gov. Monday Okpebholo has not shone on Jagbe .

Jagbe is a highly populated town in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The people of Jagbe are predominantly farmers. They carry out their civic responsibilities in all ramifications. They have always voted in past elections and are already waiting to take part in the 2027 general elections. 

Sadly, Jagbe is the only town in Etsako West Local Government Area that has no good accessible road(s). The only earth roads that link the town through Ewu in Esan Central Local Government Area and Agbede in Etsako West Local Government Area are like death traps. Whenever it rains they become impassable for both motorists and pedestrians. The photograph below shows the present condition of the earth road that links Agbede and Jagbe . This means Jagbe has been totally cut off from other towns in Etsako West Local Government Area. Isn't that pathetic ?

The residents of Jagbe have been responsible for the rehabilitation of the two accessible earth roads . How much of effective rehabilitation can the residents really carry out without the assistance from the government ? 

 In times of elections, politicians come around to campaign and make fantastic promises, that are never fulfilled. The people of Jagbe are therefore taken for granted because they cannot protest and will always carry out their civic duties .

While other parts of Etsako West Local Government Area are being provided with good roads, Jagbe remains neglected . While every part of Esan Central , the closest Local Government Area to Jagbe is being developed by the state government, Jagbe remains neglected. Why ? Why ? Why ?

 Could it be that every administration in the state does not believe that votes expected from the town are capable of deciding who wins in any election ?  .

I know that Gov. Monday Okpebholo will not make the mistakes made by the past governors who neglected Jagbe.

Mr. Governor Sir, Jagbe is part of your state, the residents of the town did vote in the election that ushered you into office and are willing to vote in subsequent elections too.

The community needs and deserves good and motorable roads to make it possible and easy for farmers and others to transport their goods to the markets  and for students who attend schools outside the town.

Please fix the access roads to Jagbe , not grading of the existing earth roads but provision of tared roads. You are capable of doing that and if you do that, you will forever be remembered by the good and appreciative people of Jagbe.

SUICIDE MISSION UNDER UNIBEN PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE ?

I eventually left it the way it is above to attract the University and the government to it, for a quick response and solution. Some years ago, vehicular accidents were recorded at the front of the main gate of the University of Benin on regular basis. Some university students were victims of such accidents, that later resulted to riots and disruption of traffic.  It was really difficult for pedestrians to cross the ever busy high way from one side to the other then. Monday Okpebholo is a fresher, not contaminated yet --Shaibu

Comrade Philip Shaibu has given reasons for supporting the governorship candidate of All Progressives  Congress in Edo 2024 Guber election, Senator Monday Okpebholo  . He described the Senator as a fresher that has not been contaminated yet. " The APC candidate I am supporting, I am supporting him because he is a fresher, he is not contaminated yet .
