Such Nigerians have listed some of the benefits of the force as, a boost in security of lives and property as well as creation of employment, as many Nigerians that will be recruited into the force will decrease the unemployment market. Based on the alacrity with which members of the National Assembly and the presidency are working on the idea, soon the state police will be officially and finally born in the country. Just as many Nigerians have clamoured for the establishment of the new organization, others have been sceptical about it. Some of the fears expressed by such people are part of my message to our state governors in this piece. In all, the establishment of a state police force is supposed to be a blessing to the country, depending on how our state governors and other Nigerian politicians handle it . I eventually left it the way it is above to attract the University and the government to it, for a quick response and solution. Some years ago, vehicular accidents were recorded at the front of the main gate of the University of Benin on regular basis. Some university students were victims of such accidents, that later resulted to riots and disruption of traffic.  It was really difficult for pedestrians to cross the ever busy high way from one side to the other then. It was to save the lives of motorists and the pedestrians that the government built a comfortable pedestrian bridge across the road.
