Armed Forces Remembrance Day : Shaibu Commends Nigerian Army

Edo State Deputy Governor and leading PDP governorship aspirant in the Edo 2024 gubernatorial election, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu has commended the Nigerian Military for  its selfless efforts at ensuring peace in the  country.

He gave the commendation in a statement issued on Monday, in commemoration of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Rt. Hon. Comrade described the remembrance day as one   to "reflect on the corporate existence of the country and at the same time to remember that while we were sleeping, people were having sleepless nights to protect the territorial integrity of this country and ensure peace."

He further said, " I want to salute the military for selflessly contributing to nation-building and putting the country first. For us as a people, the efforts of the military should be recognized. They should be honoured while they are alive and accorded 'First Line Charge' for their selfless services. 

"To our fallen heroes, your labour shall never be in vain. I'm joining every well-meaning Nigerian to celebrate these gallant men and women for their sacrifices to keep us together as a  country.

"These men (Army, Navy, Air Force, Legion) sacrificed a lot for the unity of our dear country, Nigeria and we can't forget them. We have you and your feats crested on our hearts and we will keep carrying it till the end."

The Deputy Governor  condoled with the families of the fallen ones . "Be of good cheer because your loved ones served their fatherland till the end. The good Lord shall continue to comfort you." He concluded.

Hon.(Amb.)Elliot Inneh Begins Grading Of Earth Roads In Ward 9, Egor LG

(Amb.)Elliot Inneh, the Councillor representing Ward 09 in Egor Local Government Area's legislative chamber has begun the grading of earth roads in his ward.  So far, grading of Obaruyi Street, Upper Medical Street, Oghobaghase Street (Okhoro Primary School road), Ehigie Street and Osasenaga Street ( Enoma factory road) have been completed. According to the energetic Councillor, more roads in the ward will be sand filled and graded. Some excited residents of the benefitting areas came out to salute the youthful Councillor for his good job. Hon.(Amb.) Inneh has vowed to do his best for the residents of his ward, to justify the mandate given to him during the election. The articulate and vibrant Councillor was in the team of the Egor Local Government Area Chairman that cleaned up the storm drain on Uselu- Lagos road some months ago.
