EDO 2024: SHAIBU OFFICIALLY DECLARES GOVERNORSHIP AMBITION

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu has officially declared his intension to contest in the 2024 governorship election in the state.

He made the declaration at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral center in Benin City on Monday, the 27th of November, 2023.

The number two citizen in the state who pride himself as 100% Home Boy, revealed that his campaign will be built upon five core pillars that are vital to the transformation and prosperity of Edo state.

"The first pillar of our agenda is infrastructural development and economic diversification 

"Education, Sports, Skills Development and job creation form the second pillar of our agenda.

"The third pillar of our agenda is healthcare and social welfare systems.

"Agriculture, rural development and poverty alleviation constitute the fourth pillar of our agenda.

"Lastly, Security, environmental sustainability and transparent governance is the fifth pillar of our agenda". He declared.

Rt. Hon. Shaibu also acknowledged the role of traditional rulers and religious leaders in the development of Edo state and promised to promote and preserve the ancestral heritage.

The governorship aspirant who has been in politics for three decades disclosed that he has learnt the intricacies of modern governance and built adequate service capacity. He added that his experience and antecedents in government qualify him to vie for the governorship seat.

"Therefore, I humbly seek your support, your trust and your nomination in this upcoming election, as we embark on this journey together ; united in our determination to make Edo state a better place for ourselves and generations to come". He appealed.

The campaign office of the Deputy Governor , located along airport road was also commissioned on the day of his declaration.
