Edo: Shaibu Visits Flooded Communities in Etsako Central

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon.Philip Shaibu has visited communities ravaged by flood, in Etsako Central Local Government Area of the state, to ascertain the impact of the disaster in the areas.
In his remark, the number two citizen in the state said :
"I came to see and assess the level of damage caused by the flood and report back to my boss, the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki.
" As a government, we are also here to empathize with the flood victims. We have assessed the extent of damage caused by the flood and I will report to my elder brother, Mr. Governor for us to make appropriate arrangements to have relief materials provided to sustain them till the flood subsides".
The Deputy Governor also appealed to the Federal Government to undertake the dredging of the River Niger, as a permanent solution to the flooding of communities in the affected Local Government Area.
In the Deputy Governor's team were some officials of the Local Government Council led by the Chairman, Hon. Solomon Obomighie .
Areas that were worst hit by the disaster are Udaba, Anegbette, Osomegbe and Udochi.
Rt. Hon. Shaibu also visited the Internally Displaced Persons(IDP) Camp in Fugar, the administrative headquarters of the Local Government . He also visited some traditional rulers in the area.
