Ehichioya Odion Emerges Chairman, Reliance Chapel, NUJ ,Edo Council
Comrade Ehichioya Stephen Odion has been elected Chairman of the Reliance Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council . In the Chapel's election held at the conference room of the Council's secretariat, in Benin City,
Comrade Ehichioya Stephen Odion, emerged as the Chairman, Comrade Stanley Igunbor, Vice Charman, Comrade Alabi Saviour, Secretary, Comrade Happiness Ilusota, Treasurer and Blessing Ebifagha, Assistant Secretary.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Chairman of NUJ, Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe advised members of the new EXCO to strictly adhere to the Constitution of the union when discharging their duties.
He also told them to always project the union through their actions wherever they are called to serve.
Comrade Alenkhe enjoined the newly sworn in officers to draw up activities or programmes that will benefit the chapel and the union in general.
In his remark, the Publisher of the Reliance Newspaper and one time Chairman, NUJ, Edo state Council ,Deacon Ralph Okhiria, thanked members of the Chapel for turning up for the election.
He called for unity amongst the elected officers in order to succeed in the task ahead.
He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election , declaring that it was transparent .
Deacon Okhoria boasted that he believed in the ability of the new chairman, Comrade Ehichioya Stephen Odion and other members of the executive council to deliver during their tenure .
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Ehichioya Stephen Odion who is also the Publisher of the Groove Watch Magazine, thanked members of the chapel for believing in him to lead them . He also thanked his co-contestants for the maturity and love they displayed by accepting the result of the election .
Comrade Odion declared that he was prepared to serve the chapel to the best of his ability and with humility.
