By Besiru Enakhimion. Edo State Government has disbanded the media crew attached to the Office of the Deputy  Governor of the state . This is contained in a press release signed by the Hon. Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Mr. Chris Osa Nehikhare. According to the release, the Deputy Governor has been directed to henceforth rely on the Ministry of Communication and Orientation for media coverage of activities of his office . According to Mr. Nehikhare,  "This directive followed   the ugly and unfortunate incident that happened during the colloquium held to mark the 60th anniversary of Midwest Referendum celebration held at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub and Soundstage, where some journalists, who claimed to be the media crew of the Deputy Governor, attempted to force their way into the hall where the governor and other invited dignitaries were already seated. Matthew Urhoghide has facilitated the training of another set of 100 youths and women on Fish Farming, Processing and Marketing . The training was carried out by the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Lagos, at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre, Benin City, on Tuesday, the 22nd of August, 2023. At the end of the one- day training programme, the participants who were drawn from Edo South Senatorial District were given certificates. To enable participants set up their businesses, each of them was given a starter pack of One hundred thousand naira (#100,000.00). Mr. Josiah Obadigie signs the condolence register. Veteran journalists in Edo state, were recently led by their Chairman, Mr. Josiah Obadigie on a condolence visit to the family of late Chief David Edebiri, the Esogban of Benin Kingdom.  The team was warmly received by some members of the family of the deceased led by his eldest son, Mr. Collins Edebiri . Mr. Obadigie in his speech disclosed that the mission of his team was to condole with the family the Esogban left behind . He noted that the late Chief Edebiri was a member of the league of veterans who identified with the body when he was alive.
