The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has intensified campaign against irregular migration and human trafficking . In its latest move against the inhuman trade , the international humanitarian organization invited stakeholders to the screening of a film titled, " Dangerous Hope ",at Kada Cinema in Benin City on the 24th of May, 2023 . The short film, produced by the UNHCR in collaboration with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Civil Society Organizations, Refugees and other stakeholders was earlier premiered in Abuja on the 2nd of February , 2023 . The short film is a tool for creating awareness on the dangers in human trafficking and to galvanize stakeholders to take actions that will cumulatively enhance safety and protection of the affected groups in the society .  "Dangerous hope" is a story of loss, survival and hope . This piece was initially titled, "The need for timely payment of gratuities and pension to government retirees ".  It was later changed to the one above, to show to the world the heartbreaking experience of government retirees in Nigeria . The situation is also generalized here because the sufferings of government retirees are all the same . Until recently when the Supreme court was said to have pronounced that civil servants have the right to go into the business of politics, the only extra job the civil servants were permitted to go into is farming .  The life of a civil servant in Nigeria is mostly characterized by borrowing for survival ; borrowing from financial institutions at high interest rates ; paying up debts at the end of the month and borrowing at the beginning of another month ; all for survival .
