By Besiru Enakhimion. Senator ( Pharm.)Matthew Urhoghide, today September 18, 2023 rejoined the All Progressives Congress, APC . At the Party's  Secretariat in Benin City, the Politician cum Pharmacist was officially given a membership card of the party he quit when it was called the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) some years ago. Sen. Urhoghide who represented Edo South Senatorial District at the 8th and 9th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party some months ago, citing the unresolved differences and wrangling within the party as reason for his action.  He recently declared his intention to contest in the 2024 gubernatorial election in Edo State, at a press conference in Benin City.

Edo 2024: Unending Crises May Cost PDP Victory, Amadasun Warns

By Besiru Enakhimion.  A leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Dr. Aisosa Amadasun, has appealed to Governor Godwin Obaseki and the State House of Assembly to withdraw the impeachment notice  porportedly served on the Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu. Amadasun, former State Woman Leader of the  All Progressives Congress, APC warned that the lingering crises, if allowed to fester, may hinder the chances of the PDP retaining Osadebey Avenue  in the upcoming September 21, 2024 Governorship election.  Addressing journalists in Benin City, Amadasun said an impeachment against Shaibu over his ambition was unjustifiable. By The Editor. Hundreds of PDP members, supporters, grassroot mobilizers, lovers and admirers of the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, on Sunday, 10th March, 2024 trooped to the streets to peacefully protest the plan by members of the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) to impeach him (Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu), on allegations they  consider not only frivolous but a political vendetta. The protesters urged the state Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and the  Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. AAU 107th Inaugural Lecture : University Don Advocates For Development of Masterplans Towards Growing Functional Cities in Nigeria

Magnus Oisasoje Ojeifo, a professor of Urban Geography,  from the department of Geography and Environmental Management, Faculty of Environmental Studies, in  Ambrose Alli University,  Ekpoma, has advocated for the conceptualisation and development of a masterplan to produce better and functional small towns in Nigeria.
